When new versions of the HL7+ Client Console become available we always advise you to keep up to date by installing the newest version and upgrading your current version. That being said there are a couple of things that you need to make sure you do before you install the newer version.

 

1.Make sure that all HL7+ Software is NOT running. This means that if you are using any of the HL7+ Features which use MS Windows Services you need to insure that those services are all STOPPED.

2.Make sure that all HL7+ Client programs are also stopped. This includes configuration programs like the HL7+ Listener, Router etc as well as the HL7+ Notepad or any programs running that use the HL7+ Visual Studio objects.

3.Finally make sure that the HL7+ Client Windows Service is STOPPED.

 

Once you have confirmed items 1-3 above, then you can download the latest version of the software (see Downloads) and install it.

 

IMPORTANT: When you install the new version you MUST install it into the same windows folder where you installed the current version. If you just follow the defaults when installing then you won't have any problems, if you install to a custom location then it is your responsibility to insure that you install the software to the correct folder.
