HL7 Document Publishing
The Document Publishing Destinastions use HL7 Document Templates created with and exported from the HL7+ Notepad. While it's not necessary for the HL7+ Notepad to be installed on the same computer you will need a licensed installation of that product to create / maintain your Templates.
HL7 Data
The HL7+ Postmaster works with any HL7 message data compliant with the Health Level Seven Version 2.<xx> standards
This program does not by itself "create" HL7 messages, the main function is intelligent HL7 message consolidation and/or redistribution. Since the HL7+ Postmaster works primarily by manipulating HL7 data stored in files on the file system, you must either have (or be connected to) one or more types of system which produces HL7 data. This can be:
•Any HL7 compliant interface product (EMR, Office Billing, HPMS, RIS etc.) capable of exporting HL7 messages directly to disk.
•An HL7 TCP/IP Listening application (like the UltraPort TCP/IP Listener) which produces HL7 messages and can write those messages to disk files.
