Getting Started with the HL7 TCP/IP Router
NOTE: Remember that although the video above is for the UltraPort HL7 TCP/IP Router, the HL7+ TCP/IP Router is the subscription version of that software and is functionally equivalent.
HL7+ Router Main Window (Router Profiles)
The HL7+ TCP/IP Router provides outbound HL7 TCP/IP services to as many different destinations as you need. Configures in minutes and allows you to run either as a MS Windows Service or as a desktop application for testing and development.
How does it work? The HL7+ Router will monitor a folder on your computer/server. When new HL7 data files are detected (files can contain 1 or many messages) the router will extract all HL7 messages and transmit them to a waiting HL7 Listener Application using the specific TCP/IP address and port number designated by you. If necessary it will then wait for an appropriate HL7 Acknowledgement and (if desired) write that acknowledgement out to the file system. In short, we handle all of the outbound TCP/IP overhead for you!
Can be run 2 ways!
1.Run as a MS Windows system service* (no logon required) so it can be set to start automatically when the machine boots.
2.Run as a windows desktop application (great for troubleshooting) with a handy runtime window so you can watch your HL7 messages stream out.
Easy to configure. Sets up in minutes from the HL7+ Client Console! The HL7+ Router Configuration program exposes the inner workings of the outbound TCP/IP services in a straightforward manner. Default settings are provided wherever possible and practical providing a user interface which works nicely for both novices and professionals.
